Rob Steen
This piece, published by Faber and Faber, is one of a number of illustrations done for Ricky Gervais' Flanimals books. This one is the cover to Flanimals of the Deep which is book 3 in a series that is now up to 5. Rob uses line art in pen and ink on bristol board then digital colouring done in Photoshop and Painter. This book won the Galaxy Book Award in 2007 for WH Smith Children's Book of the Year.
Vanessa Lubach
This is the cover artwork for a retelling of Wuthering Heights for children and english learners published by Real Reads last year. It shows Cathy and Heathcliff as children/young teenagers having fun on the moors before everything goes awry. I did five fully illustrated books in the series, Dracula, Frankenstein, Dr Jekyll Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre. They were all colour pencil.
