Omar Aranda guests at International Book Fair
3 October 2019
Beehive Illustrator Omar Aranda was live in action at the First International Children and Youth Book Fair in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, between the 25th and 29th of September!
As well as signing his Spanish language books, Omar brought storytelling at the festival to life by illustrating live to an audience of children. He found this to be a great experience, as the aim of the festival was “to encourage the reading of children and young people in the Dominican Republic." He also presented a new book, “Octavio y Baltasar," which was written by a Dominican author, Juan Carlos Toral, and illustrated by Omar himself.
The inaugural festival was a great success, featuring a whole host of local publishers, writers, and illustrators, and inspiring kids at all levels to participate in the joy of reading. Great work, Omar!
In this Buzz series, we're going to take a closer look at a variety of different areas of illustration, examining the types of illustration you're likely come across throughout a whole range of diverse book formats! This time, we'll be taking a look at the fast-paced world of editorial illustration.
Experience with Beehive on this recent project with Claudio was excellent as always - good and prompt communication from Beehive, including the contractual signing process we have to go through and Claudio followed the briefs and then provided the changes and options requested quickly.Richard Parker - Pearson
