Mauro Marchesi has worked for years with important Italian publishers such as Mondadori , Zanichelli, Gruppo Editoriale Raffaello, Hoepli and comics magazines on which he publishes comics and illustrations. He worked on Monkey Punch's Lupin III comics and created Hollywood Bau, a character who crossed the Italian borders. In 2008 he painted a whole Hollywood Bau comic story on the façade and interiors of a twelve-story building in Hong Kong. The comic strips were subsequently exhibited at the Natjonal Museet in Oslo in 2016.
In 2018 he published the biographical graphic novel Phil, une vie de Phil K. Dick for the French market based on texts by Laurent Queyssi. The book is now translated in USA, Spain, Sweden, Russia and Italy.
He also works with advertising and communication agencies for which he has created illustrations for Nike and other commercial brands.
Since 2012 he is a teacher in illustration,digital comic art and visual storytelling at the Verona Academy of Fine Arts and the LABA Academy in Rovereto. [read less...]
