For as long as I can remember I've has been an avid draw-er of stuff. It runs in the family I guess - my dad paints and exhibits, my grandfather was also an artist and my brother trained as a graphic designer and cartoonist.
For the past twenty-seven years I've been freelancing as an illustrator - before that I was a primary school teacher, so you won't be surprised to learn that I've done a lot of work for educational publishers, including OUP, Heinemann, Reed, Longman, Pearson, Scripture Union and Scholastic.
Other clients include the BBC, Sky Sports magazine, HarperCollins Religious, Capstone Press (USA), Valley Press and Zondervan.
Alongside my commercial art practice I also make prints and comics, curate exhibitions and teach workshops. I recently completed a short Arts Council-funded drawing residency in the Sunny Bank Mills gallery up here in Yorkshire, and I'm currently working on a big graphic novel project for a US publisher.
